Doxicycline Now Used as “Morning-After” Pill for STIs

The New York Times is reporting how doxycycline is now being used to fight a range of sexually transmitted infections, and how the Centers for Disease Control recently released a draft proposal to recommend it as a “morning after pill.” In this situation, it is called DoxyPEP, and many clinics in the U.S. are now using it as such. However, its widespread use for this purpose worries some others in the medical field about the development of drug-resistant bacteria. See full article.
